If I were going to substitute, I'd go with dark Karo syrup aka dark corn syrup. I've never seen Golden Syrup in America so I'm not sure about that one. I do believe Molasses may be the same as black treacle based on this <A href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molasses">article</A>.
